What explains global warming and climate change? What role does human activity play in global warming? What are the current and future impacts of climate change? How can the scientific community reconstruct historical CO2 levels over thousands of years? What are the solutions to climate change? In this episode, Philippe Gachon, PhD and professor at UQAM, explains the complex phenomena that influence global warming. He discusses the impact of CO2, the speed at which the Earth is warming, the tipping points that must not be reached, and presents the solutions that science offers to meet the challenge of global warming.Linktree : https://linktr.ee/learnstressfree Downloadable Transcript : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GXu29eFEVJ2t5N11B3pB7nCQ2xkspuBu/view?usp=sharingOur expert : Philippe Gachon obtained his doctorate in Environmental Sciences from UQAM in 1999, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship (Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Maurice Lamontagne Institute). Does RNA change DNA? What is RNA? Did you know that RNA is the foundation of all living organisms? Did you know that a better understanding of RNA will completely transform medicine, leading to incredible medical treatments that could benefit in particular, people with cancer?Yet RNA is the target of a great deal of misinformation from the anti-science movement. We often hear that RNA vaccines against COVID-19 were “out of nowhere” when in fact, RNA has been studied by the scientific community for over 100 years. In this episode, Karine Choquet, PhD, a professor of functional genomics at the University of Sherbrooke, demystifies RNA and explains what the future holds thanks to the scientific community’s advances in RNA research.dowloadable transcript : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yu5D1EKfDo8bjFoA1cbkh-kWJuE1IYlU/view?usp=sharingOur expert : Karine Choquet holds a Ph.D. in human genetics from McGill University, where she studied the genetic and molecular basis of rare inherited diseases. She then completed her postdoctoral fellowship in genetics at Harvard University, where she specialized in RNA biology and nanopore sequencing. Since July 2023, she has been an assistant professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Functional Genomics at the University of Sherbrooke.Dr. Choquet’s research program aims to better understand the mechanisms of RNA maturation and how mRNA splicing defects lead to human diseases. To know more about Karine: Professional page : https://www.usherbrooke.ca/recherche/fr/specialistes/details/karine.choquetLinkedIn profile : https://www.linkedin.com/in/karine-choquet-b0a631133/Choquet Laboratory : https://www.choquetlab.comNOT A SPONSORRelevant links : Link to episode 1 : What is science? Have you ever been drained of your energy, but you do not understand why? You just had a great weekend with friends, and it just feels like it didn’t help. It might have to do with your deep motivations to go out with your friends.
In this episode, our expert will talk about self-determination theory, our three universal psychological needs and how, our deep motivations can impact our well-being and the benefits we get from a dinner with friends. All this, thanks to explanations about the motivation continuum.
This episode will also tackle the false beliefs about motivation and help you take better care of yourself, all thanks to science!

And you will FINALLY get the scientific answer to the age-old question: Does money really buy happiness? An interesting answer with interesting nuances.
